Lucy wants to save Summer, and the two begin to work together to find the masked killer, but most importantly, save Summer and her friends from getting killed. The film has many different twists and turns, but the ending is definitely one thing we *need* to talk about. Spoiler Warning: Spoilers for Netflix's Time Cut follow.. Summer's death changed the course of Lucy's life, becoming an event that would hang over her head for the entirety of her existence. Even though Lucy never got to know Summer, she considers it her moral obligation to save her and three other people who were killed by the serial killer, dubbed the Sweetly Slasher.
Even as she's fighting to protect Summer, Lucy also alters history even further, rescuing Quinn from being dropped into a river by a group of bullies. In Summer's timeline, this incident pushed Quinn down a path towards vengeance: his future self traveled back in time and killed Summer and her classmates for laughing at him.. It turns out that the "E" who wrote the letter in Time Cut was Emmy. In Lucy's original timeline, Emmy was the third person killed by the Sweetly Slasher after Brian and Val, but Summer and Lucy ultimately interfered and prevented her murder. After saving her life in the time travel movie, Lucy realizes that Summer and Emmy had romantic feelings for one another, which then leads her to.
