However It keeps throwing up (engine control fault, consult dealer, driving permitted ) . Usually when stopped for a short (15 mins) break when the vehicle is at normal running temperature it will pop up on restarting .. It could be a number of issues—including issues with the air con and inadequate cooling as the car is stationery. The general process is: turn the car off, (maybe) let it sit for a while to reduce the problem, and re-start. If issue persists then a dealer visit.
Last night I started it and got this message "Reduced power Driving permitted Consult a garage" Lots of other warning lights (see photo below). Took a few seconds to start and then it sounded horrible. This morning I tried again and it started and sounded normal but got a different message: "Engine control fault Consult a garage Driving permitted".. Could be anything, lots of sensors throughout the system, from the drivers manual below. Engine control fault Consult dealer Driving permitted Engine control system is faulty. Possible to drive on. Have the fault corrected at a qualified specialist workshop.*
