Pop the primary release from inside the car. Goto the front and face the car. The bonnet should have lifted off the stops. Start at the MINI logo, stick your fingers under the lip of the bonnet and feel for the latch which is about 8 inches to the right (not the car's right but your right) and you should be able to locate the paddle.. First remove the rubber seal of then its pretty easy afterwards, try not to brake the clips when removing the plastic panel. Once you remove it enough to get to the release cable bit, you can use a plyer to pull the cable to open the bonnet. I also fixed it by tying it up to the plastic release thing with another wire. Annoyingly the car has just passed out of warranty and the mini garage just quoted £300 to fix!!!
