I purchased my Mesa Boogie Nomad 45 212 in 2002. I have gigged nearly every weekend with it for nearly 12 years. It has never failed me and always sounded great. I personally prefer the EL84's as the amp really sounds like your working the hell out of it at a low club friendly volume. The tone controls are extremely useful guitar tone controls.. But the Nomad's inherent tastefulness sets it apart from the brash attitude of our top selling Rectifiers. Most popular of the Nomads are the 2x12 combos led by the Nomad 45 with its quartet of EL-84 power tubes. This huge sounding, easily portable instrument boasts a tighter, higher bass with a stripped mid-range and a chiming, bell-like top.. The 45, 55 and 100 watt versions actually all sound a bit different, due to the different power tubes. The Nomad 100 is crushingly loud, and the only one that offers Mesa's assignable 5-band Graphic EQ. The 45 112 combo is one of my favorites, especially when used with a 112EVM Theile cab underneath it.
