But my son-in-law's Ioniq (same powertrain from the parent company) does display a tach when using sport mode. I was assuming the Kia did as well. Dan 2019 Kia Niro PHEV EX Premium - traded 8/19/21 for a Bolt EUV, battery recall the next day.. There are two aspects to Sport Mode on my Niro Plug-In. Automatic sport mode (my term) is when you.. my 2019 does not have paddle shifters but the manual mode will just make it shift later and use the battery more to provide a bit more power it seems. If you floor it, it will shift at some point. My 15 sportage manual mode will keep it in gear until the very last rpm and it will then shift to the next gear.
