Each window has its own controller. What causes a Mercedes window to become "denormalized" A blown fuse, intermittent wiring, or a bad window switch can cause the window to become denormalized. If the window doesn't operate at all, check the fuse or circuit breaker for that window. Then, check the switch operation.. If you hold the button for the window to go all the way down, that works fine. If you hold the button for the window to go all the way up, it goes all the way up but then doesn't seem to stop. You hear what sounds like a skipping gear until you release the button. Is this in the window regulator or in the switch. It's a 1997 S420.
