Resetting a receiver is just pressing the red reset button (behind the access card door on most models). A full power cycle reset is done by unplugging the power cord for at least 20 seconds. Difference is that a power cycle dumps the guide data so it has to download from the satellite again (usually within 24 hours).. Review the equipment you have and identify the impacted receiver(s). Select Refresh receiver to begin. This takes a minute or two and may briefly interrupt your service. If refreshing service doesn't fix the issue, try restarting your receiver by pressing the red reset button on the side. Learn more about restarting your DIRECTV receiver.
