I have found a relatively easy fix to the pto switch shutting down the mower deck when going in reverse. Take a wooden spring loaded cloths pin, pull all the way up on the pto Switch as if you were backing up, slide the cloths pin in under the switch. This has worked perfectly on my x 500. It also works with the snow blower as well..
