I want to change my 2014 Evinrude Etec 115 horse's lower unit oil this weekend. I used to own a 2000 Mercury 150 horse and I used the Mercury brand Quicksilver lower unit oil which I still have a bunch of.Can I use the Quicksilver lower unit oil in the Evinrude or should I use only Evinrude brand.. The brand is not near as importatnt as regular maintenance and good seals (no water in lower unit). I have been running castrol marine grade synthetic in my 200 hpdi V-max for 6 years. I drain and refill once a year wether it needs it or not. That oil comes out as clean as it goes in. Pretty amazing stuff.
