I have a 2014 f150 super crew 3.5 ecoboost with 130,000 miles that has been tuned for about 30,000 mile. When I installed the 5 star tune I put in a fresh set of motor craft plugs that were gapped to .028.. a misfire a couple weeks ago and even had a p0300 code pop up so I decided to check the simple things first like the spark plug gap.. The Motorcraft SP-580 (Ford # CYFS-12-YT4) spark plugs for the 3.5 Ecoboost engine are iridium and the gap is not adjustable. Basically, they are set at the factory.. If the spark plug gap is too wide, "spark" may find a path with less resistance and damage/effect the coil's insulating properties. the torque setting for spark plug.
2015 - 2020 Ford F150 - Correct Spark Plug Gap on 3.5 EB - Just trying to narrow down exactly what is supposed to be. I see lots of posts about having the gap under .030 if tuned and if stock to be running .030-.032.. In doing a quick search it shows the SP580 for gen 1 Ecoboost 2011-2016..028 or .030 will both work fine on a stock truck..
