C5 Tech - under hood light wiring - Well its winter time again and while I am knee deep in removing the HUD for repair of the mounting pins. I thought I would tackle a few ankle biters while the car is laid up. One is, I had my engine forged a few years back and removed the hood insulation (Oil soaked from popsicled.. Looking for a diagram that tells me which wires go to what on the bottom side of the under-hood electrical panel.. in the green connector are ground wires from the low beam lights. The Chilton manual wiring diagram shows these 2 yellow wires go to the hi/low beam selector after the wiring block via a yellow wire before going to ground but.

That's pretty close to how the factory did it too. There are several options depending on the mods you do and where stuff is located. If you have the alternator on the left or right side of the engine makes a difference, as well as doing away with the external regulator and it's wiring. This diagram shows the wire colors and kinda how they are run.. It shows me the wiring diagram for the under-hood lights, but nowhere does it show me where the switch is for them.. however i always leave the light connectors plugged in on my 94..until i'm working under the hood, lol. i did remove the light covers in my 84 and found that the mercury switches (located above the bulb) were corroding and.
