if u use the hx ecu, either the vtec-e or the normal vtec will work. i'm not sure how the vtec wiring goes on the hx ecu, but i think if u use the hx ecu on the 3 stage engine, it will engage the vtec rather the vtec-e. if u use the obd1 ecu for vtec d15b, i think u may have to look into component compatibility i.e dizzy etc.. The ECU in question is a P2J-J61 OBD2a running a D15B 3 Stage engine on a Civic 99 AT. I have already tapped into A8 (green/yellow) for a VTEC indication light. The only other option that makes sense to me is that of VTM (VTEC pressure switch) at C15. The IAB pin (A26) doesnt seem to be used in a civic. I am using the following pinout diagram.
I bought a JDM D15B Vtec to put into a 88 Crx HF. I am converting from OBD0 to OBD1. Some of the wire colors have changed so I am needing a wiring diagram for this engine. Problem is no one seems to be able to tell me what car this engine came from or where I can get a wiring diagram.. The JDM D15B 1.5 VTEC? Why not get the original OBD1 P08 ECU for that engine (I have a ton of them) and use the OBD1 wiring diagrams to get everything setup correctly? The wiring diagrams are widely available, as seen above, and OBD1 is the standard if you want to tune and modify your setup. Win win situation.
