Internal wiring of BJ40/BJ42/HJ47 glow relay (Manual glow) Hey. Let's have a "free-for-all" on the subject of the glow/start wiring that was fitted to diesel cruisers produced from around 1977 to 1983 that are "manual glow" (as opposed to "superglow") and are "with EDIC". The most common models affected here are the BJ40, BJ41, BJ42, and the HJ47.. My brothers 1977 BJ40 has had so many wiring harness fires, that I'm considering replacing the entire vehicle harness. There's a company called 'Painless' that makes a sort of generic wiring harness for pick-up trucks that I think I can make work for a Land Cruiser. I want to see or have a real BJ40 schematic before I spend money on a new harness.
BTW- These wiring diagrams are a little confusing because they include 24V and 12V alternatives within the same diagram. If you need help with the colour codes, I can post that info too..
