67 Shows 3 wires off the plug on the regulator. One is the 904 green/red stripe wire that had me plagued. It is from the ignition switch and signals the regulator to work. i have a 65 Mustang 6cyl auto m/s m/b no ac. does anyone have a picture of their voltage regulator wiring? i've checked the schematic online and it shows a connector. my wires are individual and believe they were wired incorrectly by previous owner. old is the mechanical vr and i just purchased autozone duralast vr730.. As far as the wiring diagrams being a little different goes, there were several changes made to the wiring during the 65 model year, going from a car that has a generator, idiot lights, and a horn relay to a car with an alternator, gauges, no horn relay.
